My wife saved some shipping boxes for the kids to play in. My not-quite-three year old slapped some crayons on there, and said “it’s a Miata!” We’re doing something right.
The boy’s Miata

Sweet, your boy’s gonna be a hairdresser.
Oh wait, we are no longer in the 90s.
Sweet track day ride bro!

Doing it right!
PS: you’re technically illegal for ES because you should be running 15x6.5 wheels, not 15x6 because stock is 16x6.5...but I don’t think anyone if going to protest you for running narrower yet heavier wheels than a Konig Helium or Daylite.

Hell yeah! I just realized recently I'm 80minutes from summit point.

Really? I thought it was any wheel that came stock. I had the larger size since I got the sport s package. Where those not available on an 01 at all?

Honestly, a cardboard
box isn’t that much different from a Miata. :)

15x6 were only available on base model NB2s for ‘01-’02 . LS ( leather interiors , basically), SEs, and ‘03+ NB2s came with 16x6.5 wheels standard.

Me pushing him in a box is approximately the same power to weight ratio and acceleration, I think

It’s got about the same road handling and corrosion resistance qualitie
s too.

Corrosion yes.
But you, sir, have gone too far by besmirching the handling of the Miata!

Shit, you're right. I thought it was any stock wheel size, but yeah, the rulebook makes sure it goes with what could have been ordered. Oh well. I don't think anyone cares as I'm not beating anyone yet. And es is low stakes anyway. There's 4-5 of us. Most are running nc and nds, either in DS or STR.

NCs and NDs should be CS, our region just had a duel between CS Miatas and a lone Z3.

If you want a set of lightweight 15x6.5 wheels for $200, come on down to Columbia, SC. They’re 1/2-pound heavier than Konig Heliums but Konig Daylites are pretty light...and getting rare since they’ve been out of production for at least 5 years!

Looks like a Miata to me!

awesome - looks like he’s got the colors right too. Has he been for a ride in the real thing yet?

Not yet. I'll probably give him and his sister turns in it soon.

Obligatory.
